We have painted 123 homes as of Sept. 12 during our 36th Paint-A-Thon season.
We crossed our 100-home threshold for 2014 on the BIG Paint-A-Thon day, Aug. 16. Twent-three homes were painted for seniors that weekend.
If you missed the fun of volunteering this year, don't despair. Planning for the 37th season will begin before we know it! The event appeals to volunteers of all ages, professions and persuasions. Participating volunteer teams represent nearly every aspect of our communities: corporations, churches, neighborhood and civic associations and more.
Applications are being accepted. Seniors are encouraged to apply to have their home painted using the attached link. To qualify, homeowners must be at least 60 years old, demonstrate financial need and own a home in need of painting that is no taller than 1 ½ stories.
For more information on volunteering, sponsoring the event or applying to have a home painted, call Brothers Redevelopment email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Between March and September each year, Brothers Redevelopment works alongside event sponsors and more than 2,000 caring volunteers to paint the homes of income-qualified senior and disabled homeowners in cities across the Front Range -- ALL FREE OF CHARGE.
These days, the average cost to paint a home can surpass $5,000 — a huge expense for a senior/disabled homeowners living with financial and/or physical limitations. Given that the services is offered AT NO COST to the homeowner, they can devote their limited and fixed-incomes to cover other important costs, such as medication, groceries and utility bills.
