In 2010, Brothers Redevelopment staged its most successful Paint-A-Thon in over a decade--working with some 1,500 volunteers to paint the homes of 130 seniors across the Front Range.
Between May and August, Brothers Redevelopment worked alongside event sponsors and caring volunteers to paint homes in multiple metro area cities, including Aurora, Arvada, Brighton, Centennial, Colorado Springs, Commerce City, Denver, Englewood, Federal Heights, Greenwood Village, Highlands Ranch, Hudson, Lakewood, Littleton, Longmont, Loveland, Northglenn, Thornton, Westminster, Wheat Ridge and in unincorporated Adams County.
All house painting was completed FREE OF CHARGE for senior homeowners who likely would pay more than $2,500 to have their house painted by a commercial contractor. It’s a tremendous savings for elderly homeowners—especially when you consider that the average Paint-A-Thon recipient is 74 years-old and lives on a fixed monthly income of less than $1,200.
But while the Paint-A-Thon serves seniors, the event appealed to volunteers of all ages, professions and persuasions. Participating volunteer teams in 2010 represented nearly every community sector, from the corporation to the local church.
We're already taking applications for 2011 and the Paint-A-Thon's 33rd Season! Homeowners may submit an application to Brothers Redevelopment. Seniors click here for more information.
