More than 75 supporters attend ribbon-cutting ceremony

On March 18, more than 75 business and community leaders, volunteers stakeholders and supporters helped Brothers Redevelopment unveil its new Home Maintenance and Repair Program headquarters.
Equal parts ribbon-cutting and pep rally, Brothers used the the event to highlight both the site and the services that will originate from the 5,800 square-foot facility.
Located at 5500 Logan St. in unincorporated Adams County, the site wil serve as the home of Brothers Redevelopment's five-member HMR crew and as the staging area for its many important programs that are improving home safety and mobility for thousands of low-income, elderly and disabled homeowners along the Front Range.
"Here, we have a great building and location that is perfect for our needs," said Mary Ann Shing, president. "With site selection behind us, we can better help the region adress its critical housing challenges, including the many concerns that officials have that are directly related to our aging housing stock."
Pleased by the agency's expansion into the state's largest county, Adams County Commissioners Alice J. Nichol and Larry Pace praised Brothers' commitment to north metro residents.
"In an era when local governments are finding it a challenge to fund many services, we're pleased that there is a strong, reputable and caring organization like Brothers out there that can step in to help homeowners," Nichol said.
Others, like Denver City Councilmember Doug Linkhart, saw the site's value for upcoming initiatives.
"[City employees] can't wait for the Paint-A-Thon," Linkhart said. "They'll be amazed at what they find when the come by to grab a brush."
